The transport of FishVicious the 2011 Helmsman Trawler from AL to WA

The Transport and delivery of a 2011 Helmsman 38 Pilothouse Trawler from Elberta Alabama to Bellingham WA

The Adventures of one Helmsman Trawler named FishVicious, information on this boat can be found at Helmsman Trawlers and Seattle Boatshed.com

US Boat Haulers will transport Powerboat, Sailboats and many types of Yachts from coast to coast. Doug and Nance the owners of FishVicious contact me several months in advance for the transport their boat to Bellingham WA after a 3 year adventure. Their adventure began after the purchase, it took them to Alaska, then down the west coast. The trip through the Panama Canal was a good story, then through the gulf up the east coast to do the Great Loop. After the completion of the Great Loop they ended up in Alabama at the beginning of the 2020 Pandemic. After nearly 6 months of waiting the trucking back was a go.

The Helmsman Trawler was hauled by US Boat Haulers over the road with a 2019 Kenworth semi-truck from Barber Marine in Elberta AL on the gulf coast of Alabama to Seaview Boatyard North  in Bellingham WA. If you would like a free quote from US Boat Haulers, please click here.

Trying to find a boat hauler to trust your boat to for a cross country haul is a daunting task. Being our second transport across the US from Florida to Washington state, I felt more prepared to take on this task, albeit still stressed.

After finding 3 haulers that looked good on the web, pricing and phone interviews were my second step.
The Gods were smiling on me the day that I hired Chris Holmes of US Boat Haulers to transport our boat!
He called when he said he would. He arrived when he said he would. Answered all our questions about boat prep. And he loaded our boat with methodical artistry! My estimate of the overall height was off so Chris had to access the DOT website to reroute. This took couple of minutes with his mobile system and cost was $0.00!

We were driving our private vehicles and left the marina at about the same time as Chris and our boat. We stopped for gas and then began our drive across the Causeway Bridge headed for Mobile,Al.. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw our boat transport behind us! Our lane had stopped and Chris passed us with our boat. Chris Holmes is a superb driver! He had that truck and trailer perfectly in the lanes in heavy traffic and heavy wind all the way across that 7 mile long narrow bridge across Mobile Bay! We turned into Mobile downtown and Chris took the truck detour. We saw him again as the freeways intersected further down the road. Again, Chris had our boat perfectly in the lanes and his driving so impressed us that we NEVER worried for one second that our boat wasn’t in the best hands that money could buy!

Chris arrived on time and the boat was in perfect condition. Chris had another boat to transport from WA to CA the next day so he helped with moving boxes from our truck to the boat while waiting. Talk about going the extra mile! Thanks, Chris!!!
